Christ Apostolic Church, Nigeria and Overseas are in another season of celebration. For a whole of one week, the Church would be celebrating the 70th birthday of its President, Pastor Samuel Olusegun Oladele.
To this effect, the Authority of the Church, has rolled out a series of events to mark the platinum birthday of its amiable and dynamic leader, Pastor Samuel Olusegun Oladele.
In a statement released by the Director of Publicity of the Church, Pastor Ademisoye Oladele, “the week-long celebration begins on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, with a visit to his birthplace, Alagbagba and Asaju—both villages in Odeda LGA.
“On Thursday, August 28, 2025, an Evening of Worship and Hymns will be held at Christ Apostolic Church, All Saints’ Chapel, located within the CAC General Secretariat, Bashorun, Ibadan.
“The grand finale will be a Thanksgiving Service at the International Conference Centre (ICC), University of Ibadan, on Saturday, August 30, 2025, beginning at 9:30 a.m.”
Pastor Oladele was born at 9:50 a.m. on Tuesday, August 30, 1955, in the small village of Alagbagba in Odeda Local Government Area of Ogun State.
Pastor Oladele was appointed General Superintendent of Christ Apostolic Church in 2014, a position he held diligently for six years before becoming the 8th President of the Church in January 2021.
Upon assumption of office, he unveiled a three-point agenda for his administration, which were, Unity of the Church, Human Capital Development, and Structured Evangelism and Church Planting.
The statement has it that notable achievements have been recorded in each of these areas over the past four years.
“For example, more than 3,000 senior pastors have participated in the Pastors’ Leadership Retreat (PLR) since its inception in January 2022. This initiative, conceived by Pastor Oladele, is managed by the CAC Leadership Academy (CACLA)—the Church’s training arm.
“There has also been a revival of the Word of God within the Church through the introduction of the Centralized Bible Study Manual, the Discipleship Training Manual, Apostolic visits, and a renewed focus on evangelism, including crusades, revivals, and prayer programs across Nigeria and overseas.”
Pastor Alawode also reiterated that Pastor Oladele’s unwavering commitment to the unity of Christ Apostolic Church remained a central goal of his leadership.
“His administration has also been marked by structural and infrastructural advancements. These include key appointments and policies, as well as physical projects such as the re-positioning of Joseph Ayo Babalola University (JABU) and the revival of the CAC Centenary Building Project in Ikeji-Arakeji—clear indicators of his commitment to continuity in leadership.
“By his exemplary life and ministry, Pastor Oladele has helped to restore Christ Apostolic Church to its rightful place in the comity of Churches in Nigeria. His steadfast faith in God and in the authority of the Scriptures remains the bedrock of his leadership.
“On behalf of all pastors and members of Christ Apostolic Church worldwide, we celebrate the grace of God upon this icon of faith and pray that the Lord will continue to satisfy him with long life, good health, soundness of mind, and continued success, in the name of Jesus Christ,” concluded Pastor Ademisoye Alawode, in the statement.
