I cannot deny the fact that I have gone through some challenges, but I thank God Who has been giving me victory” – Evang. Seyi Lewis aka Alapanla

Evang. Seyi Lewis aka Alapanla was a guest at the recently concluded 29th anniversary of Evangelist Ojo Ade’s Church, Christ Gift Revival Ministry.

As expected, he was invited to mount the altar to do what he knows how to do best. Everyone was ready.

When he mounted the altar at the middle of his introductory remarks while appreciating the inspiring and motivational songs of his host Evangelist Ojo Ade, the gospel singer at a juncture could not hide his emotions with tears flowing freely from his eyes. This made PTL News accost him to know what was responsible for his moody remarks, he later opened up to share some of his intimate experiences of late.

“Well, when I look at things all around me I can still say there is room to appreciate God. Aye ope yo as it is popularly said. I cannot deny the fact that I have gone through some challenges of recent, but I thank God Who has been giving me victory.”

He continued, “Let me say here that many people struggle in this life, but lack of help is 90% of many people’s problems. Naturally there are pressures for popular faces like us. There are many physical battles, I have been sick, some people called it arrows. There was a time I collapsed on the stage and that landed me in hospital for three months. I am very grateful to God that the enemy did not overpower us.

“As a gospel singer, many people want you to join others before you can be popular, and when you don’t join them they will hate you, and some others may not like to help you because you don’t belong. The Yorubas also say ‘Arokan lo nmu ekun asun n da wa’ meaning when you think too deep over some things you cannot but shed tears. Bus as for me, I will not be a gospel singer without Jesus. I will not fail God. When we see the likes of our dear Evangelist Ojo Ade who has been progressing without cutting corners, we also believe that God will open the doors of breakthrough for us.”

When asked about what he was working on, the Ka ma so pe ko lee daa crooner explained that “When things were on course in Nigeria, we used to release new works annually, but the physical market has been destroyed, what we rely on now is music online. We also have electricity problem in Nigeria, but we thank God for those who know us and believe in our music.

“Of course, we still try to come up with singles and people who like us and our music still connect with us. Our old albums are also online for people to access. Those who need them can also contact us.

We also thank God for those who help us on Radio. I am trying to be a Social media person once the world has gone online via the Social media.

Perhaps from his recent experience, he promised to come back to Evang. Ojo Ade’s church to talk to people on how to manage their health.
