For the duo of Pastors Isaac Oluwole Jesuwole and Michael Adebayo Adeoye of the Christ Apostolic Church family, it was another time for the harvest of their good works on Sunday June 22, 2025 when the two were celebrated on the occasion of their birthdays.
While Pastor Jesuwole formerly Sowole celebrated 92 years, Pastor Adeoye was 85, and PTL News was witness to the two celebrations, that same day.
Pastor Jesuwole turned 92 on Monday June 16, 2025 and Pastor Adeoye was 85 exactly on Sunday June 22.
The two had paid their dues in CAC and they have really made their marks, and to their teeming followers they deserve the compliments of being recognized and celebrated.
Pastor Sowole in his active days was the leader of the defunct Light of the World Group in CAC, a group which was instrumental to grooming of young, visionary and dynamic laymen who later became ministers of God, of which Pastor Adeoye was a very strong member and an instructor.
Their impact was felt in the area of Sunday School development and planting of Churches, until it came under the axe of the Church authority. The two were celebrated to appreciate their good works in their lives.
Courtesy of Pastor Emmanuel Bankole another octogenarian, PTL News had the privilege of being a part of the celebration train. While the celebration of Pastor Jesuwole took place at CAC Mountain of Salvation, Osogun, Ketu, Lagos, a church founded by him, that of Pastor Adeoye took place at his CAC Itire base. One took place in the morning service and that of the other took place later in the day in Itire, Mushin axis of Lagos.
While it was a day of tribute and appreciation at CAC Ketu, it was a day of honour at Itire.
At Ketu, some members and beneficiaries of Pa Jesuwole’s ministry were allowed to speak on his works and ministry, and in Itire it was a celebration with presentation of music and orchestra by the choir of the Church.
One important aspect of the twin celebration was that the two events were both celebrated by the celebrants with the two of them present in both activities. Pastor Adeoye was in Ketu in morning to celebrate Pastor Jesuwole, and the latter joined him later in the evening for Pa Adeoye’s celebration. What a show of mutual love!
In their tributes, Pastor Jesuwole was seen as a sincere leader who followed God in all His ways, as Pastor Emmanuel Bankole recalled some meetings of the old forces of Light of the World Fellowship earlier in the year in Abeokuta, and what was happening was a kind of appreciation of his good service. He added that even at 90, Pa Jesuwole was still planting a new Church.
Another selfless attribute of Pa Sowole, according to Pastor Ezekiel Adebayo, was that he never holds anything back from CAC authority as all documents of his Church had been duly handed over to them.
To his child, Baba is a legend who there is so much to learn from saying, “my challenge is how meet up to his qualities. Baba is simple, humble and loving.”
To pastor Amos Aliu, who was a very close follower of Pastor Sowole, he narrated how he started with the child of the day in his first five years of the Church in Ketu. He testified that Pa Sowole joined him and his wife, who came with him to be a part of the service, in his 55 years of marriage.
In his message, Pastor Seyi Oyedeji, the Secretary of Lagos Region of CAC who stood in for his Superintendent, Pastor S. A. Adedayo, Pa Sowole was seen as a man that have imparted other lives, and it was a thing of honour for Baba to be so celebrated. “Baba is a motivating leader, he leads in love, when he was very active before his retirement. Baba is a lover of God, a lover of prayer and a lover of CAC”, as he acknowledged the duo for enjoying the fruits of their labour at their old age.
In a similar vein, Pastor Sola Oladipo, the DCC Superintendent of CAC Grace Tabernacle in his brief sermon at Pa Adeoye’s honour, noted the value of giving thanks to God, saying, “giving thanks is a commandment just like thou shall not steal. It is a very serious matter when you fail to give thanks. We can learn from the journey of the children of Israel. Those who gave thanks survived the journey while those who murmured did not make it.”
Also citing Paul and Silas Pastor Oladipo called on every child of God to learn how to give thanks to God and make it an attitude, noting that people “should thank God for what the Lord has not made you experience, and people who give thanks mostly lead a healthy life.”
The two services were well attended by the followers of the two leaders.
At Ketu were members of the old Light of the World Society, many of those are in their 80s among which were Pastor M. A. Adeoye, Pastor Amos Aliu, Pastor Emmanuel Bankole, Pastor Odunsi, Evangelist Mrs. Jesuwole and a host of others.
At Baba Adeoye’s corner were also his biological and spiritual children, led by the Superintendent of Itire DCC Pastor Gideon Oladokun, of Itire DCC, Pastor Sola Oladipo of CAC Grace Tabernacle, Pastor Wole Ogungbenjo of Odi Olowo DCC, Pastor CAS Daramola, Pastor Meleki, Pastor Oluwaniyi, Pastor Olu Phillips, and members of Pastor Michael Adeoye Foundation, a foundation in the name of the celebrant.
Concluding in their remarks the two celebrants expressed their thanks to God for making such a celebration unique and a memorable one.
We have been marking my birthday with thanksgiving service, I can see that this one is very different. The church made a presentation of a jeep to Pastor Jesuwole for more of his comfort and aide him to do more in the service of God.
Pastor Adeoye also expressed his thanks for the organisers of the music orchestra and most especially to all the Pastors and church members, as well as well-wishers in attendance.
