WORD of Life With Pastor Kayode Owoade: Spiritual versus Natural Realm

•In our relationship with Jesus Christ, we usually transit from Natural to Spiritual Realm.

* Let’s consider:

Jairus’ encounter with Jesus Christ

* Jairus came and fell at Jesus’ feet and begged Him earnestly, saying:  “My little daughter lies at the point of death. Come and lay Your hands on her that she may be healed …”

*So Jesus went with him.

*However, Jesus was intercepted by the woman who had a flow of blood for 12 years.

*As Jesus was about to discharge the said woman, some people came from Jairus’ house and said to him:  “Your daughter is dead. Why trouble the Teacher any further?”

*On hearing this, Jesus said to Jairus : “Do not be afraid, only believe.”

* Here, Jesus teaches that Faith and Fear do not coexist. One will kick out the other from our heart.

*When Jesus finally came to Jairus’ house, He saw a tumult (people who wept and wailed loudly).

*When Jesus came inside, He said to the people around: “Why make this commotion and weep? The child is not dead, but sleeping.” (Mark 5:22-24, 35-39).

* Note: all the people around looked at the situation from the Natural Realm (the girl was dead).

— That is what the natural man could see.

*But Jesus looked at the same situation from the Spiritual Realm.

— He knew that He could restore the girl back to life.

*So Jesus spoke in tongues: “Talitha cumi.”

* Immediately, the girl arose and walked, for she was 12 years old. (Mark 5:38-42).

•Note: Peter, James and John (of the inner circle of Jesus), looked at the girl’s situation from Natural Realm.

— So they were only able to see a dead girl.

• Note also: the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him.  That is why the people in Jairus’ house ridiculed Jesus (Mark 5:39-40).

* Also, the natural man cannot know the things of the Spirit of God, because they are spiritually discerned.

•Apostle Paul said that he spoke not in words which man’s wisdom teaches; but which the Holy Spirit teaches; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

— 1 Corinthians 2:12-14.

* I pray that the Lord will empower us to make our hearts receptive to the leading of the Holy Spirit, in Jesus name.

Please share for God’s glory.
