Saturday 4th June will ever remain indelible in the annals of The Final Exodus Bride Tabernacle, a non denominational evangelical ministry of reconciliation and restoration as the men and officers of International School of Chaplaincy and Christian Interdenominational Intervention Chaplain led by the African Commandant came to inaugurate and induct the General Overseer of the Church, Apostle George Chukwuma John as the Commandant of Lagos 3 Command.
The inauguration which was held in an open place along Suberu Oje Road by Caaso Bus Stop was witnessed by Church members, neighbours as well as other officials of the chaplaincy group.
The event of the day was kick started with the arrival of the African Commandant Chaplain Prof Mike Oriyomi Raimi and his entourage who were welcomed with a parade before they were ushered into the venue of the historic event.
The colourful event which featured presentation of good will message by the officers present was also climaxed with a complimentary phone in message by the World Commandant General of the organisation, Chaplain Professor Antonio Correa who called in from his US base. He noted that the chaplaincy was set up for the purpose of evangelism, neighbourhood security and child development in the ministry.
Chaplain Correa in his message congratulated the new command on the inauguration and commended them for the good works they were doing in the Lord’s vineyard promising him of his supports as the need arises.
The Africa commandant also congratulated Apostle George for the superlative preparation and performance of his newly created command.
He told the gathering that the chaplaincy which came to Nigeria through Chaplain Correa in 2019 has not only found its root in Nigeria but has also spread to 15 African countries including South Africa and Liberia, and 16 states of Nigeria.
In his special message for the day, Chaplain (Major General) Joel Afolabi, the National Director of Security and Intelligence charged the men and women f the International School of Chaplaincy on what are supposed to be their roles and duties in the society.
Chaplain Afolabi said Chaplaincy is the message of Jesus Christ inspired from Matthew 25, saying it was to take good care of the less privileged and bring souls to the kingdom of God.
“As Chaplains we are called to minister anytime and anywhere to draw souls to the side of Jesus Christ, preach the message of peace and bring comfort to the people. A chaplain must be mission minded. Even as a para military non governmental organisation we must also create time to study the bible.”
He charged the members to always conduct themselves in a way that add value to the message of Jesus Christ and should not be found in doing things that will bring shame to the gospel as he called on them to always assisst the government in programmes that could bring peace to the community.
“You should be found in youth development activities, get engaged gainfully, be well behaved, avoid tobacco and dangerous drugs, cultism and secret societies, refrain from gambling, do not carry firearms, and be committed to all enviable Christian ethics, dignity and mutual respect and caring for the less privileged.”
Earlier in his welcome address the Lagos 3 Commandant Apostle George C. John promised to lead his team in the way of the Lord and do all things according to the vision of the founder and leaders of the organisation, as he promised to use the new platform for the spread of the message of Jesus Christ.
The Deputy National Commandant, Chaplain Akhirebhulu in his message also charged members of the Chaplain group never to waste any time in any assignment committed to them by God of which passion for perishing souls is the prominent.
“If there is any assignment given to you by God to do, do it now. It is very dangerous to procastinate. It is time for you to go and be Christ ambassador to minister to your community, family and even the nation at large. If God is giving you a vision, begin it now. What is your dream, what is your passion, what is your gift? Use it now to impact your community and humanity in general. Don’t allow money, time or any other commitment to stop you from achieving your dream. Go out and win souls. If you don’t do it, God will hold you accountable,” He admonished.
