Apostle Chibuzo Chinyere of the popular Omega Power Ministry, OPM, has offered to relocate the parents and siblings of the murdered student of Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto State, Deborah Yakubu Samuel to Port Harcourt.
The man of God has also promised to enrol the siblings of the killed student in the church-owned school, free of cost
Deborah was lynched and burnt to death by some Muslim youths on Thursday over an alleged act of blasphemy in a class WhatsApp group.
Her parents had in an interview with the media, said, Deborah’s siblings sacrificed their education for their murdered sister over the lack of finances to enrol all of them at the same time.
Her mother, Aileri Emmanuel, had said that her seven children would not be able to access education ever again.
Aileri Emmanuel while speaking about her daughter’s death said, “I have no demands; I don’t want anything but one thing I know is that my children will never go to school again.”
Deborah’s father, Garba Emmanuel who is a security guard with the Niger State Water and Sanitation, had reportedly said that he sent Deborah to school with all his savings.
The General Overseer has now promised to take over Deborah’s siblings’ education.
The man of God in a statement currently trending on social media said he would relocate the family from Niger State to Port Harcourt the Rivers State capital.
He said, “I just watched a video clip where the parents of Deborah Samuel said they will not be sending their children to school again. God forbid.
“Anyone with their contacts should inform them immediately that I Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere, the General Overseer of OPM Church is relocating them to Port Harcourt.
“They would be staying in one of the OPM’s free estates where they will never pay rent forever.
”All their children are given automatic scholarships in OPM Free schools. I will get the father a job and I will also open a shop for the mother. Please get in touch with them immediately. God bless you”.
Deborah’s father has however denied the statement that he would stop all her children from going to school.
When asked to confirm his plans not to send Deborah’s siblings to schools again, Mr. Garba Emmanuel denied the rumour that his family never vowed not to send their children to school again.
“We never said none of our children would go to school again. That is a lie. I never said so. You can’t stop your children from going to school because of this. I guess they misquoted the calls of our people not to send their children to that school again because if you send your child to school, and what you get is her dead body, it is a break of trust. If they cannot keep your children safe, why send them to that school?”
He also decided not to take any action like going to court to challenge the school over the incident. He disclosed that he would not go to court but leave things to the government concerned.
Recall that Apostle Chinyere in March offered scholarships to two Nigerian security guards who were sacked for dancing while on duty.
The security guards, popularly known as ‘The Happy Boys’, have reportedly said to have travelled out of the country for studies.
