Ordained ministers of the Christ Apostolic Church in Nigeria are already excited once again as they are all gathered from all parts of the country to hold another epoch making congregation of Pastors in the mission. All CAC Pastors in Nigeria are expected to gather in their thousands at the Babalola Memorial International Camp, Ikeji Arakeji, the spiritual headquarters of the Church between Tuesday 20th through Friday 23rd September 2022.
The Pastors’ Conference has Grow in the Grace and Knowledge of Our Lord Jesus Christ as the theme.
Preparatory to the great gathering, excitements are noticeable most especially in the prospective participants’ responses and preparations for the conference.
There has been massive sensitisation, creation of awareness and mobilisation of ministers to the convocation which is a very special event in the annual records of the church.
Earlier, a release from the General Secretary of the Church, Pastor Emmanuel Mapur had called on all ministers to prepare themselves for the annual spiritual retreat.
According to the General Secretary, “the Pastors’ Conference will last only four days from Tuesday, the day of official arrival and registration which starts between 9am to 4pm, and the welcome service holds by 4pm on the same day.
The General Secretary stated that all ordained Pastors of the church (full time or part time) are expected to attend the conference without exception, and added that the period of the conference must not clash with any local programmes.
“No one should schedule any local church programme, wedding, burial, etc. to clash with the dates of the programme,” he warned.
The Pastors’ Conference is one loaded with lots and beehives of spiritual activities featuring sessions of various messages as affecting the Church, ministers and the society, teachings on life and moral conducts of ministers, their families and the church, ministers and health matters, personal and ministerial life management.
The conference will also be used to review and address some fundamental issues affecting the church and its ministers, while the President of the mission will also use it to make policy statements concerning the Church and the larger society.
It is one conference that any ordained minister in Christ Apostolic Church would not like to miss.
“Ministers, young and old also take the advantage of the conference to interact and relate with one another, exchange notes, pray together and engage in consultation and mutual counselling towards making a better minister in the coming years,” express a young minister, who shared his excitement with PTL News.
Speaking on what to expect for the conference, Pastor Ademisoye Alawode, the Director of Publicity of the Mission in a chat with PTL News explained that by the conference, Pastors would be fully equipped for growth in all areas of their life and ministry.
He said, “The theme of our conference is ‘Growing in the Grace and Knowledge of Our Lord Jesus Christ.’ So, at the end of our conference, we expect our pastors to be fully equipped for growth in all areas of ministry. We expect them to reach the full stature desired of them by Jesus Christ the head of His Church.
“When there is wholesome growth, spiritually, physically and in all other vital dimensions of growth, the Church of God will be able to fulfil her God-ordained mandates in the world as the light of the world.
“The Church will be able to infuse light into our continuously darkening world and bring sanity to the chaotic situation pervading in our world.
“The essence of the conference is that we are training those who will be able to teach the church members and when church members go into the larger society they will positively influence the society.”
This conference will be marking the second year running of the administration of Pastor Samuel Olusegun Oladele as the number one Pastor of the Church.
In his over one year of leadership, the church has experienced some dynamic and strategic administrative reforms to reposition the church as a leader to watch in the comity of Churches in Nigeria and across the globe.
One area easily identifiable was the creation of more regions for administrative convenience. For instance, the large and influential position of Lagos and old Akinyele Region has been unbundled and broken to about five regions comprising, and well experienced ministers of God have been posted and inaugurated to man the leadership of the regions.
Another reform of the President has been the swiftness and timely conduct of the business of the church, as there are no more unnecessary dragging of time wasting programmes and avoidable priorities of using whatever means to squeeze cash from unsuspecting congregation of the church under whatever guise.
Several programmes of the church have also been modified to reflect a disciplined and God fearing Church.
In this vein, Pastor Alawode enjoined all participants to conduct themselves with the best ethical decorum to have a highly spiritually rewarding experience at the conference.
“This conference has been meticulously planned to run smoothly from day one through the last day without any hitch. So, all that is expected from our pastors is to cooperate with the organizers by complying with orders and directives put in place for the success of the conference.
“In addition, we expect them to prove their mettle as children of God in decorum and orderliness. Like you know, this is a conference of ordained Pastors in the Christ Apostolic Church. As such, the organizers have put down some measures, of which, simple obedience on the part of our participants, will ensure the conference runs hitch free.
“In the areas of protocol on parking of vehicles, using the toilets and ensuring orderliness, the organizers have left no stone unturned. Though we expect full compliance from participants, in the rare case that some people want to prove difficult, measures have equally been put in place for the law to take its course. We are not leaving any stone untouched,” he assured.
As the President will be leading other principal officers to preside over the conference, members have taken the advantage to state their expectations about the conference.
It was expressed that the leadership of the church in their wisdom should continue in seeing that fairness is ensured in the promotion and posting of ministers into their various places of their primary assignments.
The President in his inaugural statements had promised that no minister would suffer any ill or preferential treatment in the hands of their superiors, as well as to look into the issues of welfare of the ministers.
Other areas that both members and ministers of Christ Apostolic Church are looking into according to PTL News investigations are those that the president promised to facilitate the unity of some factions of CAC globally to come under the same umbrella, and the President’s plan to revisit the old vibrant arms of the Church like CAC Students Association and the Light of the world, it is believed that these two arms would be very helpful in planting new parishes, growing the Church and expanding it to its desirable status across the world.
“It is true that bringing the entire pastors and members of Christ Apostolic Church is one of the dearest programmes of the president of the mission, the Church leaders are still working hard on this. The only thing is that we want to speak more through our actions than we speak with our mouths. When the time comes, you would be able to see what we are doing silently when they come to the open on their own,” explained the Director of Publicity, Pastor Alawode.
On CACSA and Light of The World, the Chief spokesperson of the Church added that “A committee has been set up and the committee has submitted its report. At the fullness of time, decision taken on their report will be made known by the Church leaders.”
All said, the president would be expected to be assisted by all members of his dynamic and growth minded principal officers, the Regional Superintendents, members of the General Executive Councils, Superintendents of Districts Coordinating Councils, and with the cooperation and supports of all the rank and file of the Church ministers.
Apart from the President Pastor Samuel Olusegun Oladele, Christ Apostolic Church, Nigeria and Overseas parade highly spiritual giants and officers like Pastor Emmanuel Olatoro Odejobi as the General Superintendent, the energetic and spiritual bulldozer, Prophet Hezekiah Oladeji as the General Evangelist, Pastor Emmanuel Mapur as the General Secretary, Pastor Johnson Omitinde as Financial Director and Pastor Caxton Fasuyi as the Mission Director.
