“Emi Lo Kan,” meaning It’s My Turn.

This was part of the statements made by the flag-bearer of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu at Abeokuta Ogun State capital while on his consultation to the members of his party in the state.
The former Lagos State Governor trying to remind and intimate some high ranking members of his party of his kind gestures in helping them to achieve their aims said it was his turn to receive the much coveted political seat in the country.
The APC leader has opened his statement in Yoruba explaining how he had helped the President Mohammadu Buhari when it seemed all hopes had been lost, and how he helped the Governor of Ogun State Prince Dapo Abiodun made the statement that it was his turn to clinch the mandate of his life long dream.
Asiwaju Tinubu has also reacted to the acceptance of initially controversial slogan, as it has become a slogan now accepted and used at public place including Church of God.
The APC presidential candidate acknowledged this during an interview on Channels TV.
Recall that before the APC Presidential Primaries, Tinubu was in Ogun State to meet with the Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, and some delegates to woo them to vote for him. During the cause of his speech, Tinubu recounted how he helped President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015 to win the election after several trials.
He also recounted that if not for him, Dapo Abiodun wouldn’t have been Governor of Ogun State, adding that he has served people all his life but now, it is his turn which means “Emi Lokan” in Yoruba. After he made this statement, it was greeted with several mixed reactions from Nigerians who felt it was inappropriate. However, the former Lagos Governor went ahead to clinch the APC presidential ticket.
In effect, his request has now become a very popular prayer request in the Church with leaders asking for their gifts that it now their time to receive from God. Emi Lo Kan Eledumare.
