For Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, the well respected General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian of God, and all his associates and members of his Church, who turned 80 years on March 2, 2022 is no more news but what comes as news is the set target of winning 80 million souls for Christ for the celebration.
To achieve this a coalition of interdenominational Christian leaders and prominent sons and daughters of Daddy G. O., Pastor E.A. Adeboye, has launched an ’80-day soul-winning challenge’ to celebrate the his 80th birthday.
The coalition under the auspices of Reach4Christ targets to win eight million souls in 80 days to commemorate the clergy’s birthday.
Speaking at the unveiling of the campaign at the unveiling event held at Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos last December, the President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Bishop Francis Wale-Oke, said the initiative was a birthday gift “to a man who has dedicated the major part of his adult life to soul winning,” adding that “the project is one which resonates with God as soul-winning is the heartbeat of God.”
He described the passion of Pastor E.A. Adeboye for soul-winning as admirable and inspiring, noting, “These are attributes that should challenge every believer to participate in the 80 Days Soul Winning Challenge.”
In his presentation, the Pastor-in-Charge of RCCG Champions Cathedral, Warri, Pastor Emmanuel Emefienem explained the key verticals of the 8 Million Soul Winning Challenge to include – The 100,000-man soul-winning team, Crusades across 8 Cities, Crusades in 80 Towns, Gospel Invasion of 40 Higher Institutions, Outreaches to 40 Correctional Facilities, 80 Hours Marathon Messiah’s Praise, Outreaches to 2000 Secondary Schools, 40 Mission Fields Outreaches, among others.
Also speaking at the event, The National Overseer, RCCG Nigeria, Pastor J.O. Obayemi emphasized the blessing reserved for soul winners and everyone who chooses to honour a father with a gift that touches his heart.
In his remarks, Pastor Leke Adeboye described Pastor E.A. Adeboye as a passionate and ardent soul winner who goes the extra mile and despises challenging odds to reach continents, nations, cities and even remote villages around the world to win souls for God.
He encouraged Christians everywhere they are to emulate Pastor E.A. Adeboye and join the challenge to win one soul per day throughout the 80 days.
Along with the evangelistic programmes, the team also unveiled plans to transform lives and communities with social impact initiatives in the course of the 80 Days programme.
Meanwhile the celebrant has led the soul winning crusade in earnest by holding revivals in some major cities across Nigeria. Pastor Adeboye has been to Bayelsa, Gombe, Bauchi, Maiduguri as well as other parts of the world.
Pastor Adeboye in one of his social media handles has called on children of God to join hands with him to make a good success out of the crusade.
“Over the past few weeks, we have been going round the country for Light Up Crusades, Town Storms, Secondary School Evangelisms and Prison outreaches. In line with the age I am turning this year, we will be having the Annual Marathon Praise which will last for 80 hours this year. This is an open call and appeal to everyone who is a genuine Child of God to come lift up the name of Our Soon Coming King for 80 hours at a stretch. Please don’t miss it !” he beckoned.
The 80 Days Soul Winning challenge will span almost 3 months; December 13th 2021 – March 2nd 2022.
