In the spirit of the season, Pastor Mrs Wemimo Popoola of Grace to Grace Ministry of God Church, Mangoro, Ikeja played hosts to children from different background on Monday 19th December, 2022 at the Church premises to celebrate them in the annual Christmas carol Service.
The service featured different variety shows and presentations by the church choir and the children. Such activities were rendition of songs of praise and worship, Christmas songs, Choreography, Bible Reading by the children, drama, memory verses and bible recitation by the children, quiz competition, sermon and presentation by Father Christmas.

In her message to the children who were there in their number, the host, Pastor Mrs. Popoola told the children to release themselves to the hand of God who is ever ready to lead them in their life journey.
Mrs. Popoola who noted that the carol service like any other was being commemorated, all over the world for the coming of Jesus Christ to the world for the salvation of man said Jesus was being celebrated for coming to the world to fulfil His purpose for mankind.
She therefore charged the children to live a life of purpose.

“Jesus is the light of the world, and He came to show us that light and to be the light to our own world too. If not for Jesus Satan would have been ruling the world. The birth of Jesus Christ is spiritual and not the walk of the flesh. We must therefore commit ourselves to growing in the spirit of the Lord Jesus Christ. We should walk in the light and not against it.”
To the parents, the woman of God charged them to also take care of their children in the way of the Lord.

She admonished, “Parents, take care of the children in the way of the Lord. Teach them how to relate well and how to be good people in the society. Teach them how to dress well, teach them about what to eat and what not to each, teach them how to behave. Do not allow the world to lure them into the power of darkness, and do not allow the world to teach you how to control your children. Teach them in the way of the lord in all areas of their life.
Quoting 1Peter 2.1-3, Pastor Mrs Popoola told the parents to teach the children way of the Lord from home, and not how to keep malice. Show them how to live in love. As you teach them the way of the Lord the light of the Lord will be seen upon them. Create good time for your children, teach them with the word of God.
Teach them how to live without sin and don’t copy bad friends. With the birth of Jesus we are no more under the bondage of Satan as long as we live a life without sins.
She therefore led prayers of divine protection and direction for the children, that they would live their purpose in life under the shadow of the Almighty God.
The legendary Father Christmas was there to give the participants various gifts, and the participants left with different gifts at the end of the service.
Later, speaking in a chat with PTL News, the visionary and host minister, Pastor Mrs Popoola stated her reasons behind the vision and how the Lord has been helping her to get it through year in year out.

“We thank God for making it beautiful, and that is our confidence in God. God has been behind everything. Whatever you see this year is by God Himself. Even with the state of the nation’s economy, God still proves himself faithful. God has been there to provide for all our needs.
“My vision of the service is to make the children happy. We are here to celebrate the children because God loves them. I want the children to be honoured. Most of the children you saw here are children of average Nigerians. We did not segregate, you see the children mixing together, and many of them came with their parents from far places. Many of them are children of the average Nigerians, I will not call them poor because God has great plans for them.
“As you saw them, some of them are motherless, or fatherless and some of them that God has been helping me to raise to become great people in life. That is why I was joined by the whole members of the church to celebrate them.”
Mrs. Popoola used the advantage to appreciate her associates who have been supporting her vision.
“I also want to take this advantage to thank all those that God has been using to support this vision. On this I want to recognise Mr. Monday Akure. He has been supporting us greatly year in year out for this Christmas Service. May God continue to bless him.”

Reviewing the profile of the participants the woman of God revealed that people came from far and near without any discrimination.
“People came from difference places. Among the families and children are Ghanaians, Hausa, Yorubas, Ibos, Edo, Delta and Calabar. People came as far as Agege, Iyana Ipaja and Ikeja to celebrate this with us. It has become a very popular event in our church here and people who have known about the programme always come to be part of it. There is no discrimination, and everybody that comes, especially the children are welcome.
On whether there were any challenges or any inadequacy about the programme? Pastor Mrs. Popoola said, “I believe God provides everything we need. I work with the vision of God. I don’t do anything by my own leading for any selfish reason. We do what God wants us to do and He has always been very faithful.
“As for me I don’t say this is what we want to do but we do things according to the plans of God. All I know is that we will also hold it next year and God will prove Himself again, and it will be better. God has perfected everything and we give Him all the honour and adoration.
The programme was held at the church premises, 24, Michael Akinola Street, Onipetesi Estate, Mangoro, Ikeja, Lagos.
