Details of this unfortunate incident are still sketchy, but it was gathered that he passed away on Friday at the age of 51 after he slumped.

The 51-year-old music producer, who was said to have been in the hospital for some days, where he was receiving treatment for an undisclosed ailment, passed on Friday morning, November 25.

According to an insider report, the singer, who had been hypertensive for a while, slumped in the early hours of Friday, November 25, at his home in Lagos. He was subsequently rushed to a hospital in Lekki, where he was confirmed dead.

Sammie Okposo till his death was an exceptional music producer, Psalmist, Entertainment Consultant and CEO of Zamar Entertainment. Born May 30 1971, Gospel Artiste Sammie Okposo hails from Delta State, Nigeria. He started as a producer in 1995 when he joined the Nigerian Movie Industry as a Sound Track Producer and later ventured into Music Producing.

Three years ago, the Delta State-born music star had a close encounter with death after the propeller shaft of his car pulled off while on motion.

Meanwhile, the family of the late Sammie Okposo’s has released an official statement on death of the gospel music minister.

The statement, which was signed by a member of the family, Hector Okposo, was released on Friday.

The official statement read, “It is with a heavy heard but with total submission to God that I announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, Minister of God, Sammie Okposo.

“Sammie slept and went to be with the Lord on the morning of Friday, November 25, 2022. More details about the burial will be communicated soon.

“We are consoled because we know that he is with Jesus singing with angels. We kindly request that the family is allowed to grieve peacefully at this time.”

This is another sad tale in the gospel music scene following the death of another gospel music star Osinnachi Nwachukwu in April this year.

Nwachuckwu died on April 8, 2022, at an Abuja hospital. Until her death, Osinachi was a lead singer at the Dunamis International Gospel Centre. She was said to have died due to health complications emanating from domestic violence.
