As part of the celebration of the 2022 Nigeria’s independence, the Federal Government has released a list of the beneficiaries of the prestigious awards.
In the list monitored by PTL News were names of prominent Christian leaders, politicians, industrialists, Business men and women, public servants and private individuals, as well as foreigners.
Among those spotted on the list is the prominent front role politician and cleric, Cardinal James Omolaja Odunmbaku, aka Baba Eto, with others like the immediate past president of Christian Association of Nigeria, Rev. Supo Ayokunle, and His Grace Most Rev. Daddy Hezekiah, the Calabar born Professor and Founder of Living Christ Mission.
Also found on the list are the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, the Onisan of Isan Ekiti, Oba Gabriel Adejuwon, the Governor of Ondo State Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, and the immediate past FRSC Boss, Dr. Boboye Oyeyemi.
In all 437 Nigerians and foreigners were nominated for the various awards.
The Awards will be presented by President Muhammadu Buhari on October 11, 2022 at the State House in Abuja.
In the list, the title of Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger has five recipients; Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic, 54 awardees; Commander of the Order of the Niger, 67; Officer of the Order of the Federal Republic, 64; Officer of the Order of the Niger, 101; Member of the Order of the Federal Republic, 75; Member of the Order of the Niger, 56; and Federal Republic Medal has eight award recipients.
