
President Muhammadu Buhari has signed into law the re-worked Electoral Act Amendment Bill
The signing ceremony took place on Friday at the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The President signed the legislation into law shortly after he returned from a two-day working visit to Nasarawa State.
The ceremony was held at the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Present at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa for the ceremony were the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, and President of the Senate, Dr. Ahmad Lawan.
Also present were Chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Prof Mahmood Yakubu; Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, among others.
On January 31, 2022, the National Assembly transmitted the reworked amendment bill to the President for assent.
The president consequently forwarded it to the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami (SAN), for legal advice. -PTL News.
