Following the sudden demise of Pastor T. B. Joshua, the founder of the Synagogue Church, and as there was no laid out succession plan available; his wife of over 25 years, Evangelist Mrs. Evelyn Joshua may be tipped to succeed her husband.
Feelers from the Synagogue disclosed that the wife is most favoured to lead the Church as the Church Elders were meeting to select an acceptable successor to Prophet T.B. Joshua.
Evangelist Evelyn, was one of the leading ministers in the Church who had been leading and preaching in services before the death of her husband.
“As it is said that nature abhores vacuum, someone must take charge immediately and give spiritual direction on the mode of service continuity,” said a top aide.
“None of the pastors were trained specially to succeed him but for now the wife is strong enough and well prepared to take charge.”
Evangelist Evelyn Joshua (Nee Akabude) 53, his wife of over 25 years is a native of Delta State, and she had been leading in holding services, prayers and preaching in the Church. It is believed she is strong enough to hold the church leadership and members together after the husband has passed on.
“She is much loved, she is very intelligent and from her closeness and lessons learnt from her husband, she is good enough to lead the people to serve God,” a member explained.
