In spite of her relatively young age all burial honours were accorded Mrs. Deborah Anike Olaomo, wife of Rev. Dr. Adebimpe Olaomo who gave up her ghost recently.
Mrs Olaomo died on Monday January 16, at 64 years.
The burial ceremony began in Lagos with service of songs at her residence, Igala Estate in Ejigbo Area of Lagos where neighbours, family and Church members were on hand to pay her glowing tributes.
At the service of songs various good works which Mrs Olaomo was known for came into remembrance as both the young and the old were thanking God for her impactful life.
She was variously described as a dependable community leader, a loving wife and caring mother while she was alive.
Mrs Olaomo was described as loving, kind, humble, simple, cool, nice, gentle, caring and a lover of good things.
As a community person she was once a member of the executives of her Igala Estate Community Development Association and she earned the respect of ever being prompt and punctual in all CDA meetings and functions.
To her grandchild Anita, her grandmum was her mummy’s backbone by leading them in the way of the Lord.
In a message by the minister in charge of RCCG Seed of Abraham Parish, taking his text from 1Tessalonians 4.15 recalled how the scripture tells us that death was not the end of man but a transition, noting there is another life after death.
The preacher told the mourners the need to live their lives in consciousness of the fact that there is life after death.
“The way we live our life on earth determines where we go after death and the deceased did not live only but lived to make heaven, and impact lives. He acknowledged that Mrs Olaomo lived to touch lives positively.
To her son Adewunmi, his mother lived a purposeful life, even though it was painful to lose her in a time like this.
“I can testify that my mother lived a purposeful and peaceful life. She stood by my father. She also lived to enjoy good live in her own way as she has had the opportunity of visiting some other parts of the world. She was in France, United Kingdom, USA, and she lived to impart into our life godliness. Her prayer has taken us far and her prayer has been stored up for us.”
He took the advantage to appreciate the different groups that made the programme. These were the Christian Association of Nigeria, Centre for Christian living, Ejigbo Baptist Family, The Redeemed Christian Church of God Seed of Abraham, Igala Estate CDA and the Women Group.
The funeral train later moved to her place of birth, Okaka, in Itesiwaju Local Government of Oyo state where the final funeral service was held in her honour.
The service was held at First Baptist Church, aka Arena of Salvation on Friday, 17th February, 2023.
It was an outpouring of tributes and encomiums right from her husband of over 40 years, her children, as well as neighbours, testifying to her good works as a virtuous woman, loving wife, a devoted and godly woman and a caring mother to her biological and spiritual children.

In his message of tribute, her husband Rev’d Adebimpe Olaomo described her as a complete dutiful and committed wife, hospitable and dependable, courageous, prayerful, easy going, peaceful and caring among her other sterling qualities.
To her children, “her virtues of gentility, humility and patience were perfect as a case study at any given time, meek in appearance and character but a giant in godliness, a prayer machine and a lover of soul winning and evangelism, with steadfastness in the desire to know God more.”

To her Igala Estate Community Development Association, she would be greatly missed because of the role she played in keeping the residents together, as she was always ready to carry out responsibilities assigned to her promptly and diligently.
Mrs Olaomo was born 64 years ago into the family of the late Pa Gbadamosi Aworinde of Otun Ago compound and late Madam Ogundola of Agoro Adejuwon compound in Okaka. Though born into a muslim family and named Adijat, she got converted later in life.
