A Nigerian theologian, Dr. Peter Olawale has reacted to the ongoing military threat by the American President Donald Trump against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of Nigeria, over the alleged genocide question and killings of Christians in the northern part of Nigeria.
Dr. Olawale who is the Rector of Alive Theological Seminary and Post graduate School sharing his views with PTL News recently at the annual Convocation lecture of his bible college described the threat and possible intervention as a sign of divine intervention.
The cleric who likened this to such an experience the children of Israel had with the Midianites on their way to the promised land believed there was nothing for Nigerians to fear, as it was a way to deliver Nigerians from their enemies.
He said, “I want to believe exactly that what is happening now has happened to the people of Israel in the past.
“If you read what happened in Exodus chapters 1, 2 and 3, up to chapter 15, you will see how the children of Israel passed through horrible and painful experiences, from the hand of Pharaoh, that there was nothing they could do but to look unto the face of the Lord and God promised to give them a Moses, a saviour which he eventually fulfilled.
“I want to believe that the intervention of the American soldiers under Trump is a sign of divine intervention. So God has heard the cries of the Christians in Nigeria, the cries of the masses have been heard. The Boko Haram and the Fulani herders are like the Midianites who would be waiting on the children of Israel to plant in their farms and waited on the children of Israel for their harvests before they struck, leaving nothing for the people that owned the farm. The same thing is repeating itself in our own Nigeria today.”
He continued, “Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do about that but when you look at it critically, you would discover that Nigerian government has a hand in it. They know the problem, they also know the solution. But they don’t want to solve it.
“God knows why He is allowing Americans to intervene. America is known as God’s own Country. Americans are the ones paying tithes to the nation of Israel. They are the only nation in the world that are paying tithes to the nation of Israel. They believe in the God of Israel and by history we also believe that the Americans are part of the Jews.
“They will never wage war against Israel, they will never wage war against them, and they are coming in the name of Jesus Who they believe. God is on their side and they are going to win. There is a way God has answered the cries of Nigerians.
“There was a way God did it in the land of Egypt several years ago. So God is working, and God is at work. At the end of the day, if God wants Nigeria to divide, it will happen peacefully. God will do it in His own way, and if God still wants us to maintain one Nigeria, everything is in His hands. Nigeria should remain calm, God is at work.”
He however advised the Nigerian President Tinubu to act fast in the interest of Nigeria, and not that of the political and religious elites forcing their satanic will on the people of Nigeria, noting that Christian persecution is very real in some parts of the country, and he should not wait until God used the big stick to toe the country into His will, which may be too hard to bear for Nigerian politicians.
