Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, has congratulated the standard bearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, on his electoral victory as Nigeria’s president-elect.
Prof Osinbajo, lauded the victory of his former boss, the former Lagos State governor, wishing him the best as he prepares to lead the nation.
Disclosing this in a tweet via his verified Twitter handle the Vice President’s spokesperson, Laolu Akande, said, “Prof Osinbajo, who presided over the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting on Wednesday morning, led other cabinet ministers in congratulating the President-elect Bola Tinubu.
“The Vice President congratulating President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his victory at the polls, also wished him “the best as he prepares to lead the nation.”
Akande equally informed that the Vice President and FEC also congratulated the Vice-President-elect Kashim Shettima and First-Lady-designate, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.
He wrote, “Presiding over FEC this morning, VP Osinbajo led ministers in congratulating President-Elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his victory at the polls, wishing him the best as he prepares to lead the nation. VP and FEC also congratulate VP-Elect Shettima and First-Lady-designate Oluremi Tinubu.
In a similar development, the Vice President Professor Osinbajo also eulogised the president elect, Bola Tinubu in a powerful congratulatory message.
In a congratulatory message the Vice President described Tinubu as an epitome of an actual progressive stating that Tinubu’s progressive ideals and tenets were needed in the current state of Nigeria found itself.
Describing Tinubu “as a leader with consistent fidelity to progressive and welfarist ideals, the Vice President added that Tinubu had “an ability to build bridges across several divides.
“These attributes are needed especially at this time, to reach out to disaffected sections of our society and to meet the aspirational expectations of our young people who have shown such a strong desire to impact our democratic process in a positive way.”
As contained in the statement, Vice President Osinbajo also congratulated his running mate, Senator Kashim Shettima.
“I also congratulate His Excellency, Senator Kashim Shettima on his declaration as Vice President-Elect of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
Vice President Osinbajo was present at the formal presentation of the INEC Certificates of Return to both the President-Elect and his Vice at the National Collation Centre at the International Conference Centre (ICC) in Abuja.
