On Sunday July 26, 2025, the dynamic women of The Ark of Redemption Ministry concluded their week long convention with thanksgiving service. Since the Church took off in the year 2000, the Women’s Fellowship has been in the forefront as the Church marches on. The women’s convention is always a beehive of activities and that of this year was not different, featuring teachings, prayers, counselling and evangelism.
It was rounded off on Sunday with thanksgiving service where the women presented themselves in the presence of God,happy, singing melodious songs and dancing in their praises and appreciation to God. They also presented an impactful drama to the delight and learning of the Church congregation.
The drama was presented as a lesson to those who prefer to abandon their first love to strange women and the lessons to learn from it.
The women were also very happy to share their testimonies of what have been helping them to maintain a very strong bond among other groups in the Church.
The programme, according to the organisers, centred on the spiritual growth, and empowerment of women in the Church of God, for the family and the larger society.
The women in their testimonies commended the leadership ability, care and concerns of the Church leaders who are alwyas ready to assist, elevate and promote the women in their chosen endeavours.
As part of the celebration the women were made to benefit from the diverse trainings and empowerment sponsored by the Church leadership. These were in the areas of skill acquisition and empowerment as participants were trained on how to make local drinks like tiger nut and zobo drinks, making of liquid soaps, gele tying, and decorations.
In his sermon, the Senior minister in charge, Pastor David Ogunlana congratulated the women for standing out among their peers, for their love for the things of God and their strong commitment to soul winning which has been helping the growth of the Church.
The cleric commended the women for their supportive roles in the Church, making useful contributions to the growth and expansion of the Church.
“Here we can say that our women have been so supportive in the ministry, my wife too has been a part of them. She has been the one piloting the women, and the members have been so supportive and cooperative. There has been no rebellion, everybody contributes and cooperates. As God directs, we move. We are not a Church that compels and squeezes people to give by force. Here, we encourage cheerful givers and for them to have arranged and done what they have done today, we can see the love and we can see the Lord taking them to higher places.”
Mummy G.O. Pastor Mrs. Ogunlana, a medical doctor, was also commended for her leadership role and the impacts she was making on the women and their fellowship.
The Women Leader Sister Rosemary Fatai who was equally satisfied with the performance of the women in the annual convention also commended her members for their superlative performance at the anniversary spending their time and resources for the expansion of the gospel.
In her words, “We thank God that today is for the thanksgiving of our 2025 Convention for all women in the Church. We thank God for our Mummy and our father in the Lord. Our father in the Lord is a man with the wisdom of God, and our Mama a woman of love and great inspiration. We thank God that the grace of God in their life is lifting us higher and higher. We pray that the coming 2026 Convention will be better and greater than this. We can see the joy of the Lord in the face of everyone today, most especially our women.
“God has done new things in our life and we believe God will use it to do greater things. Our theme was drawn from the book of Psalms 30 verse 1 to 5. My prayer for all our women is that God would do a new thing in our life. God will uplift our head and that of our family. Higher and higher we will go in the mighty name of Jesus.”
Also speaking about the secret of the success of the Women’s anniversary, the Women’s leader explained, “The secret of our success is the joy of the Lord. God is our strength. We cannot do it by ourselves and only God can make this happen. It is God that has been upholding us. It is God that has been strengthening us. He has never slept in our cases. We are very joyful and happy because He keeps us alive till today and that is why we are happy. We organised the convention and people came from far and near, that is why we are happy.”
As usual, the celebration was not concluded until they treated the congregation to a soft refreshment, and every member and first comers left with special gift for the day.
